Are twinning of cities just a friendly gesture or are they a viable channel for trade and investment for regional cities? To discuss this important subject, CLDs will be hosting a fringe event at Federal Conference at the SECC, Morar Room.

On the Panel of eminent speakers are Duncan Hames MP, a board member of the Great Britain-China Centre, Sir Graham Watson MEP, a long time China watcher and Sheffield entrepreuner, Jerry Cheung. The debate will be chaired by CLD Vice-Chair, Merlene Emerson.

Research on UK China twinned cities will be presented by Carl Carlstedt and Chris Georgiou, post graduate researchers for Chinese Liberal Democrats.
