New Year Honours: CLDs offer congratulations

This year's new year honours' list has been one of the most diverse and fully reflects the variety and make-up of the population. Of the people honoured for making a real impact in their community or industry include five members from the British Chinese community:

Bert Kwouk, actor - OBE

Chu Ting Tang, for services to community in Chinatown, Westminster - OBE

Bernice Lee, climate change specialist at Chatham House - MBE

Beatrix Ong, shoe designer for services to the fashion industry - MBE

Ruby Yun-Yuet Murray-Jones, head of Hounslow Chinese school - MBE
